Jim Andrews, President of Litho Publishing Co., founded the company in 2000. But the seeds for Litho Publishing Company are considerably older. While attending the University of Alabama, Jim worked part-time for Pritchett-Moore, Inc. as a property manager and real estate agent. The job afforded Jim the opportunity to learn the property business from long-time pro, Marlin Moore, Jr. Moore instructed Andrews in leasing, sales, valuation, management, and much about operating a business. Upon graduation from Alabama with a degree in advertising, Andrews evolved from the real estate business into the real estate marketing business. The background and seven years invested in the real estate business during the "boom times" of the late 1970's and early 1980's proved invaluable in understanding the task of successfully marketing multi-family and commercial real estate. Andrews even taught real estate topics at The University of Alabama and at Birmingham-Southern College on an adjunct basis during the transition from a real estate practitioner to real estate marketing expert.
In 1987, Andrews went to work with Quest Publications, and became Executive Vice President and Editor of titles including Birmingham Apartment Guide, as well as Apartment Guides in Tuscaloosa and Auburn. Subsequently Andrews established new titles including Apartment Guide books for Florence, AL, Montgomery, AL, Dothan, AL, Starkville, MS and more. He also became Editor of Commercial Property Directory, which at the time represented only the Birmingham, AL metro area. Today the Commercial Property Directory markets properties in 22 states. In 1999, Quest Publications sold a number of titles to publically traded PriMedia. At that time, Andrews established Litho Publishing Company, Inc. and continued to expand the role and scope of the company and its products and services.
During the twenty-five plus years that Jim Andrews has been assisting property owners, managers and agents in marketing and leveraging their offerings, much has changed. The methods have been augmented and emerging technologies have been aggressively and eagerly embraced by the company, while continuing to provide its clients with outstanding value and remarkable results. Today, in addition to traditional media, Litho Publishing offers a wide array of tools including web, mobile web, mobile marketing using QR codes, TAGs, SMS text, as well as video, social media integration and new mobile device apps. Litho Publishing Company is committed to keeping its clients on the forefront of effective and cost-effective marketing strategies.
Though a small business, Jim Andrews has been a leader in the industry and has served as President of Apartments Nationwide, The Alabama Apartment Association, member of the board for several industry organizations, including the Alabama Center for Real Estate at the University of Alabama, The Real Estate Center at the University of South Alabama, and the Alabama Chapter of CCIM.
